About the Role
The Partner Technology Advocate (PTA) plays a critical role in expanding
Comm-Tronics’ presence across healthcare, education, and commercial
markets.
This entry-level sales role focuses on identifying, qualifying and nurturing
opportunities that introduce partners to our evolving portfolio of security
and communication technologies including:
- Video surveillance
- Access control
- Body-worn cameras
- Radio communications
- Concealed weapons detection
This isn’t about pushing products.
It’s about listening first, learning fast, and helping partners solve real-world
problems with technology that makes a difference.
Please note: This is not a remote position. It requires regular in-office collaboration at our Glen Burnie headquarters and local travel to partner sites throughout Maryland, D.C., and Delaware.
What You’ll Do
- Prospect: Research, connect with, and qualify new partners across assigned markets.
- Engage: Conduct needs assessments and coordinate demos, lunch-and-learns, and site visits.
- Support: Assist Account Executives with quotes, proposals, and partner follow- ups.
- Track: Maintain accurate partner data and pipeline updates in ConnectWise.
- Develop: Engage in continuous professional growth through the Comm-Tronics Sales Library, vendor certifications, and mentorship.
- Collaborate: Team up with Operations and Sales to ensure a seamless Unmatched Partner Experience.
Who You Are
- A self-starter with 0–2 years of experience in sales, customer service, or technology.
- Naturally curious and passionate about technology, people, and purpose.
- A clear, confident communicator who enjoys building relationships.
- Organized, detail-oriented, and unafraid to roll up your sleeves.
- Comfortable traveling locally to partner sites — valid driver’s license required.
- Familiar with Microsoft 365 and eager to learn ConnectWise CRM and related tools.

What You’ll Do
- Install Systems: Assist with the installation of Nurse Call, Access Control and Video Surveillance systems under the guidance of senior technicians and project managers.
- Pull & Terminate Cabling: Run, label and neatly terminate low-voltage cabling while maintaining high craftsmanship standards.
- Solve Problems: Troubleshoot installation challenges with curiosity and persistence because at Comm-Tronics, we don’t guess, we get it right
- Master New Tech: Learn new systems, tools and installation methods, becoming a technician others can rely on for answers and support.
- Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Work closely with Project Managers, Service and Operations to ensure every system is installed to spec and on schedule.
- Document & Improve: Keep accurate records of work performed, materials used and any field changes, details matter here.
- Ensure Quality & Safety: Follow company standards, site safety rules and manufacturer guidelines every time, no exceptions.
- Push the Broom: Maintain organized tools, vehicles and job sites because excellence starts with order.

- Support Motorola Installations: Assist with deploying Motorola two- way radios, infrastructure, and accessories.

- Partner Training Support: Assist with radio in-service training and user education.
